Founded in 1947 at the dawn of the electronic age, Phytron Elektronik continues to manufacture innovative products that meet and surpass the most arduous of motion control requirements for industrial, scientific and specialised applications.

The design, development, test and production of stepper-based motors and controllers are carried out in a modern factory complex located near to research and academic centres of excellence in Munich, Germany. Phytron's many years of experience in extreme and uncompromising environments is renowned, and its breadth of products is unique.

Typical environments for the stepper motors include: vacuums to 10-11 mbar; temperatures from -270°C to +300°C; radioactive sites; submersible; high Tesla fields; clean rooms; food processing areas and medical equipment. Their controllers complement this diverse and eclectic motor series: dumb power stages; smart stand-alone devices; single and multi-axis positioning drives with fieldbus options - all of which are available for prototype and series production.

  • Hybrid Stepper Motors
    Precision motors with diameters from 19mm to 125mm in a variety of steps per revolution from 8 to 500 and holding torques from 0.4Ncm to 1700Ncm.
    Customised versions are a speciality with a raft of standard modifications and accessories to cater for most applications. The motors are mainly in metric frames and fixings, but several NEMA mountings are also available.
  • Extreme Environment Stepper Motors
    Highly application specific and build-to-print designs encompass a plethora of design features and construction techniques to ensure reliable operation in the harshest of environments with unparalelled performance in the most stringent of earth-bound and extra-terrestial conditions.
  • Drive Stages
    Powerful and highly efficient power modules provide the means to accurately and economically control the speed and position of any hybrid stepper motor. Designed for 19" sub-rack, DIN rail or panel mounting, they easily integrate into most drive schemes and confer maximum performance by using patented switching techniques. Application specific modules combine menu-driven LCD readouts with temperature monitoring capabilities.
  • Drive Stages with Integrated Power Supply
    For direct connection to single phase supplies. These units have optional motion control capabilities for a single axis and interface to serial, parellel, PLC ports and CAN-bus protocols via an intuitive Windows PC program.
  • Single and Multi-axis Controllers
    1 to 8 axis programmable motion controllers for sub-rack mounting with interface protocols to suit wide ranging applications via PCs and field buses. Power supplies, keyboards, alpha-numeric displays, dual axis joysticks, encoder and signal conversion boards are just a few of the options.
